Fulton man accused of fracturing baby's femur

FULTON, N.Y. -- A Fulton man was arrested after police said he fractured the femur of a 4-month-old child.

Fulton police took 20-year-old Carl James Kaufmann III into custody after responding to a suspected child abuse report from Oswego Health Urgent Care.

Kaufmann is accused of intentionally causing physical harm by squeezing the infant's leg hard enough to cause the femur to fracture.

Kaufmann is charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held on $25,000 cash bail.

The infant was transported to Upstate University Hospital.
