SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A 20-year-old woman faces charges after police say she got into a fight with her teenage brother and ended up stabbing the people who tried to break it up.

Chante Lopez, 20, of Park Avenue was arrested Thursday. Police say she was swinging a steak knife at her brother when her mother and another person, Marvyn Clayton, 22, intervened.

Lopez ended up slicing her mother's arm and stabbing Clayton once in the back and twice in the thigh.

Clayton was taken to Upstate University Hospital.

Lopez also ended up causing minor injuries to herself during the fight. She has been charged with second degree assault.
