SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse women's lacrosse team fell behind 3-0 to Georgetown in the semi-finals of the Big East tournament before rallying for a 7-6 win.
The Hoyas played a stall ball game plan to perfection in the early going and earned a 3-0 lead for their efforts. But in the final 8 minutes of the first the Orange went on a 3-1 run to get to within a goal and it was 4-3 at the break.
In the second half the Orange executed their offense better than they did in the first half and made a quick 3 goal run to take a 6-4 lead with 22:39 to play.
After that it was the Orange who played solid while stalling and hung on to win by a goal when a last second Georgetown chance came up empty.
