ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Norwood man has been arrested and charged with the rape of an 18-year-old woman and police say it happened inside the business he owns.
James Roshia was arrested earlier this week. He owns a game store called The Time Capsule in Massena.
According to court papers, the alleged victim told police she went into the store late Tuesday evening with two male friends. She goes on to say that Roshia asked the victim's friends to step outside and said he wanted to speak with her alone. After her friends left, the victim says Roshia locked the door, grabbed her by the arm and took her into the back room.
In a statement to police, the victim said, "I kept telling him I didn't want to go and I was trying to pull away. He would not let me go."
During the alleged attack, the victim says she was able to send a text message to her friend for help. The friend kicked and broke the door, went into the store and got the victim from the back room.
Roshia was arrested and arraigned in the Village of Massena. He has been charged with rape, criminal sexual act and unlawful imprisonment.
Roshia is being held in the St. Lawrence County Jail. Bail is $50,000.
An order of protection was filed against Roshia.
