Man charged with DWI after crashing into Tree
MADISON COUNTY, N.Y. -- One man is injured and charged with DWI after a car crash on State Route 80 in Madison County.
Authorities said James Fellows, 39, of DeRuyter, drove off the road and hit a tree around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Fellows was found in the back of his Trail Blazer, he was removed and transported to Upstate University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. OnStar called the Madison County 911 Center to report the crash after receiving a sensor activation from the vehicle.
Officials said Fellows wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and the vehicle's airbags did not deploy. He is being charged with DWI, unsafe speed on a curve and failure to wear a seatbelt.
