Pilot killed in plane crash
WAYNE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Pennsylvania State Police are assisting the FAA as they investigate a deadly plane crash at Cherry Ridge Airport Saturday.
Troopers said a single engine 1973 Cessna crashed around 12:30 p.m. The pilot, Jeffrey Gilbert, 67, was the only person on board. He was taken to Scranton Hospital where he later died.
Police are not sharing any other details, including where the pilot was from, only that he was a New York State resident.
The Federal Aviation Administration is still investigating what caused the plane to crash.
