NEW YORK STATE -- State Assembly candidate and current mayor of Walden, Brian Maher, finished his seven day, seven county bike tour across the 101st District in New Hartford on Sunday.

Maher rode over 250 miles from Orange County to Oneida County in an effort to connect with voters across the district. He finished his ride by speaking with a handful of supporters about second amendment rights and his anti-fracking agenda. His campaign said that after meeting people on the ground, they feel ready for their race against Republican incumbent Claudia Tenney.

Maher said, “I don't intend to be outworked, I intend to be that candidate to appeal to people, who has the energy, passion and the wherewithal to withstand a campaign, but also to effectively represent this district when we get to Albany."

Tenney made a surprise appearance at the event to congratulate Maher on the completion of his ride.
