Libraries receive grant money
ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Senator John DeFrancisco announced State Public Library Construction grants for libraries in Onondaga County. The local grants are among 192 construction grants awarded to public libraries in need of repair.
Of the grant money being received, Fayetteville Free Library will receive more than $250,000 to build a business center and a public Fab Lab. The lab is a collection of commercially available machines used in graphic design.
Onondaga County Public Library will receive more than $125,000 and will use the money to create an InfoTech Center which is a library with an emphasis on technology.
Meanwhile, Maxwell Memorial Library in Camillus will use their $9,000 to replace their roof and Baldwinsville will use their almost $4,000 to become more energy efficient.
