FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Franklin County teen has been arrested following a crash that killed another teen on December 7th.

Tanya Menke, 16, of Brushton, has been charged with criminally negligent homicide and vehicular assault. Investigators say Menke was under the influence of drugs when she ran a stop sign, lost control of her car and crashed into a tree.

One of her passengers, Brooke Lyon, 16, of Moira, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger was treated for a severe head injury and continues to recover.

Menke also faces several traffic violations, including driving while ability impaired by drugs. She's due back in court on May 15th.
