ENDICOTT, N.Y. -- IBM is still calling Endicott home. The company signed an agreement to stay local for at least another three years.

Eight hundred people are employed at the Huron Campus facility, IBM's birthplace.

YNN reached out to a company spokesperson on Monday, who said, "IBM signed a new three year lease with options to extend the agreement on May 4. We are pleased that the lease meets the needs of IBM's employees and business operations in Endicott."

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer recently spoke to IBM's Chief Executive Officer Virginia Rometty, urging the company to stay in the Southern Tier. He said he was ready and willing to help in any way he could to ensure IBM would remain local.
