SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police say a man who was firing a gun at a car is in the hospital with serious injuries after the car he was aiming at ran him over.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. Monday on West Matson Avenue near Onondaga Creek.

Police say a 22-year-old male was firing a gun at a group of people inside a Chevy Trailblazer. The driver of the car then hit the shooter with the SUV, causing a severe leg injury.
