UNITED STATES -- Snack-maker Hostess is warning workers at its plants around the state they may be laid off by early July. Hostess filed documents with the state Labor Department this week announcing the possible layoffs, citing the possible sale of the company as a reason. The notice says a total of 36 workers in Central New York may be affected.
Hostess has facilities in Syracuse, Marcy, and Whitesboro.
Hostess issued similar warnings to workers at plants around the country.
The Teamsters Union says it is ready to negotiate with the company in order to avoid layoffs.
