SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse rolled out the red carpet as it hosted the premiere of a new movie about the sport of lacrosse.

"Crooked Arrows" follows a native lacrosse team through its journey of finding its roots, both on and off the field. It features a few Hollywood names, but also players and some behind-the-scenes crew from the Onondaga Nation.

The movie already has support from native communities and fans of the sport.

Those involved with the project say it has something for everyone.

You can watch "Crooked Arrows" in movie theatres starting May 18th. It will be playing across Upstate New York and in other select cities.
