SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A 19-year-old from Syracuse has been indicted for a March murder in the city.
Demetrius Hackett is accused in the shooting death of 33-year-old Chance Gathers.
Police say Gathers was shot in the back outside of a home on the 100 block of Kenmore Avenue on March 23rd.
The chief had said Gathers was a possible suspect in the August death of 22-year-old Pierre Hackett, who was Demetrius' brother. And, their cousin, Leroy Hackett, was also injured in a shooting days before that.
Hackett has been charged with second degree murder and two counts of weapons possession.
