LIVERPOOL, N.Y. -- It was a tournament on tip-toe Saturday at Onondaga Lake Park.
The Socci Stiletto Stampede began with a 50 yard stiletto dash, featuring both men and women.
The event was thought-up by two of Katie Socci's friends, who have started a scholarship in her name since the Auburn woman was killed last summer. They said it's the perfect tribute to their fun-loving friend.
Karrie Glatt and Erin Colaneri, the organizers said, “Katie was a very colorful person. She loved to have a good time, she loved to laugh. What better way to do it than to have it in a positive upbeat way with all her friends and family and our community, and just have a lot of fun."
There was also a 5k walk and run as part of the event, no high heels needed here though.
