SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A bicyclist is hit in the eye while riding in the city of Syracuse Saturday morning, but it wasn't what he thought it would be.

The man showed up at St. Joseph Hospital's emergency room thinking he had been hit in the eye by a rock, but there doctors discovered he had actually been hit by a BB.

The man told investigators the injury happened around 7 a.m. as a car passed him on Park Street.

It caused severe damage to his eye, and has left police investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
