ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A local doctor who used to work at Upstate Medical Center will spend the next six months in jail for driving drunk and hitting a homeless person with his car.
Frank Vogel was sentenced today in Onondaga County Court. Earlier this year he pleaded guilty to first-degree vehicular assault in the incident last August, when he hit Jason Farnham, 32, on the Onondaga Lake Parkway in Liverpool.
Authorities said Vogel had a blood alcohol content of .20 at the time. He will serve the 6 months at the Onondaga County Correctional Facility in Jamesville, then will be on probation for the reminder of a five year term.
