CORNING, N.Y. -- Teachers and students at Corning’s All Saints Academy got a makeover for charity Monday.

Twelve students, two teachers and a parent cut their hair and shaved their heads for Locks of Love and St. Baldrick’s. All the hair donations must be 10 inches long and will go toward making wigs for cancer patients.

This has become an annual event at All Saints. For many of the students, this was not their first time donating.

"I've done this for three years. Doing Locks of Love to give hair to kids with cancer to make wigs," said fourth grader Madeline Burns.

"This is my second year," said sixth grader Tyler Heaton.

"Why do you keep doing it?" our reporter asked.

"Because my grandmother died of cancer," replied Heaton.

Since 2009, more than two dozen teachers, staff and parents have taken part in All Saints' St. Baldrick’s Day Locks of Love events.
