Child injured in Barton crash

TIOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Lockwood man has been arrested under Leandra's Law. He's accused of driving while ability impaired by drugs and endangering the welfare of a child.

State Police say Wyman Heath IV, 53, was driving on State Route 34 in the Town of Barton this weekend when he crossed into oncoming traffic and hit another car. Laure Bishop, 54, and a three-year-old child were also in the car.

The child was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center with multiple injuries.

Heath, Bishop and the driver of the other car, Robb Herriman, 43, were taken by ambulance to Robert Packer Hospital in Pennsylvania for their injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
