Man accused of breaking into storage units
ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- An East Syracuse man arrested for allegedly trying to sell a handgun at the Central New York Regional Market is also a suspect in dozens of burglaries.
The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office says Ronald Cottrell, 32, was a frequent vendor at the market. But Sunday morning, they say he tried to sell a gun to other vendors.
Cottrell has also been arrested for a rash of storage facility burglaries in Onondaga County. Investigators believe he hit more than 90 units. Surveillance video from one of those units resulted in multiple tip calls.
Cottrell faces dozens of charges, including weapons possession, multiple counts of grand larceny and 51 counts of burglary. He is currently being held without bail.
