One rezoning plan moves forward in Canton
CANTON, N.Y. -- Concerns expressed by Canton town board and community members have kept most of the town's zoning laws from changing, except one.
On Monday night, six rezoning recommendations were brought before the town board, but only one was chosen to move forward: A proposal to change a section of County Route 27 into a commercial area.
Canton Town Supervisor David Button says he believes the meeting was a success, that people's concerns were heard and it was a very healthy experience overall.
Moving forward, Button says a public hearing will be scheduled and a draft of a new law will be created pertaining to the potential changes on Route 27.
