Felony crack cocaine and DWI arrest
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A traffic stop in Syracuse led to a felony DWI and drug arrest. Police said just before 7 p.m. Thursday, a car was pulled over for unsafely backing down the street on the 300 block of South Avenue.
An officer detected the smell of alcohol on the driver, and the officer said he searched the car and found 17 ounces of crack cocaine, worth an estimated $50,000 at street value.
The driver, Charles Green of Syracuse, was taken into custody. He faces numerous felony charges including criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated, along with other traffic violations.
Green is scheduled to be arraigned today.
