About 450 cyclists are pedaling for a great cause today. They're riding some 100 miles to help missing and exploited children. The 16th annual Ride for Missing Children will go through Madison, Oneida, and Herkimer counties. Our Brad Vivacqua reports.

MADISON COUNTY, N.Y. – It was a very emotional opening ceremony this morning before about 450 cyclists headed out. They began the trek around 7:45 a.m.

The riders will pedal from Oneida and head as far east as Herkimer, finally heading back to New Hartford, where they'll finish their trek around 6:30 p.m.

Along the way, the cyclists will stop at a number of schools where they will remind kids not to talk to strangers.

Each participant has raised $500, which will help print and distribute posters of missing children. Nationally, the National Center for Missing has distributed more than seven million posters since 1984 to help successfully recover more than 5,000 children.
