Deputies looking for car chase suspect

CENTRAL NEW YORK -- A shoplifting complaint led to a car chase and crash in Oswego County Friday night and the suspect is still missing.

Deputies were called to the TJ Maxx in Mattydale around 7 p.m. for the complaint. Before they could arrive on scene, the suspect drove away on 481 North. The pursuit ended near the Route 57A exit for Phoenix when the driver lost control of the car crashing into a guardrail. He fled on foot into the woods.

A female passenger was taken to Oswego Hospital with minor injuries. She is cooperating with the investigation.

Fulton City K-9, State Police K-9 and the State Police helicopter assisted in helping with the search.
