EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Firefighters made quick work to put out a fire at a home in East Syracuse Friday night.
The fire started in the second floor of a house on the 200 block of McCool Avenue. The village's mayor was one of the first people on the scene, since he lives across the street. He helped police convince the man living on the second floor to crawl to the door to get out.
No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
