ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Friday was a perfect beach day in Central New York. Both Jamesville Beach and Oneida Shores in Brewerton opened weeks early. The sunny skies with a slight breeze helped lure in eager beach-goers as soon as the gates opened at 11 a.m.

Many of them are wondering if the warmer winter means an even warmer summer.

"I think it's crazy...I hope it's completely hot this summer. No weird coldness or anything," said Stephanie Slater, a Syracuse resident.

Both beaches will remain open through Memorial Day. After that, they will be open only on the weekends until the normal schedule starts on June 18th.

Admission will cost you $6 Fridays through Sundays and holidays, and $4 Mondays through Thursdays.

Don’t forget you can check out the Weather section of our website at any time to see how the weather will hold up for the holiday weekend.
