CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Red Cross is assisting a Cayuga County woman today after her home caught fire in the town of Owasco. It happened Thursday afternoon on Adams Avenue.

Fire officials were able to get the fire under control quickly and contained it to the basement.

Officials said one woman was home when the fire started. She was taken to Upstate University Hospital because she was having trouble breathing.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
