CHENANGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Chenango County man is behind bars after authorities said he seriously hurt another man.

According to the sheriff's office, Michael Thiel, 38, of Otselic fought with another man Tuesday.

The victim was flown to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where he's listed in serious condition.

Thiel is charged with second-degree assault. He was arraigned and sent to the Chenango County Jail on $5,000 bail.
