SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Memorial Day is about honoring the servicemen and women who died serving our country.
To highlight their sacrifices, a ceremony was held Sunday at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Syracuse. Many veterans were in attendance, some serving as far back as World War Two. Those we spoke with said the event is a chance to reflect on how wars have affected many lives.
Ed Zaluski, a World War II Veteran said, “It's a day to remember all the veterans, or anybody that was in the war, or just anybody in general because everybody had a price to pay."
Many other communities around the region have Memorial Day events scheduled for Monday.
