Syracuse women's lacrosse team suffers disappointing loss

By: Web Staff

STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Syracuse women's lacrosse team experiences a tough end to their record-setting season.

After an exciting double-overtime victory against Florida in the national semi-final game, the Orange advanced to their first ever national championship game against Northwestern.

The two teams faced each other earlier in the season, ending with an overtime loss for Syracuse. At Stony Brook University on Sunday, the two teams met again.

Syracuse took an early lead but Northwestern fought back and the two teams found themselves tied at the second half, 6-6.

Unfortunately for the Orange, the Wildcats ended up pulling through, winning the game by a score of 8-6. This will mark the Wildcat's seventh title in the last eight years.
