BAINSBRIDGE, N.Y. -- A Chenango County family is mourning the loss of a nine-year-old boy.

Bainbridge Fire Chief Kyle Simpkin says the boy fell off a chair while riding on his baseball team's float in the Memorial Day parade Monday.

He fell off at the Main Street intersection. The driver of the float didn't see that he had fallen off, and accidently ran him over.

He was taken to Wilson Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

His name and any other details are not being released at this time.
