CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. -- A year-long drug investigation has come to an end. Six people were arrested after raids for outstanding warrants in Horseheads and Elmira Thursday.
Police hit three different locations, seizing heroin, crack and powder cocaine, a handgun, cash and drug packaging material and paraphernalia. The investigation, known as Operation Re-Rock, started a year ago with tip calls.
Thursday, police arrested six people. They say Lenny Sutton, Justen Maxwell, Anthony Perry, Kayla Owens and Alonzo Powell all had outstanding warrants and have all been charged with criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance. A sixth person, Tasharie Jones, was also arrested and charged with drug possession.
If convicted, they face nine to 12 years in prison.
More arrests and charges are possible.
Several agencies worked together in the operation, including Elmira, Horseheads and Elmira Heights Police, along with the Chemung County Sheriff's Office and State Police.
