SYRACUSE, N.Y. - A three-day delay due to lightning was worth the wait for the fifth-seeded Cazenovia baseball team as it won its first-ever Section III championship with a 10-1 win over No. 2 Sherburne-Earlville Thursday in the Class B title game at Alliance Bank Stadium.

The game began Monday in Rome but was delayed in the second inning by storms. Cazenovia appeared to be unaffected as it scored in each of the first six innings to build a 10-0 lead.
