It's been one week since State Trooper Amanda Anna lost her life in a car accident while on duty. Today, hundreds are expected to gather in Syracuse to say their ‘goodbyes.’ Our Sarah Blazonis reports from the North Syracuse Baptist Church.

NEW YORK -- It's quiet right now, but State Police are expecting heavy congestion in this North Syracuse neighborhood, similar to what was seen at calling hours.

Officials said Trooper Anna, 31, was driving on Co. Rt. 37 in the Oswego County town of Hastings last Friday around 11:30 p.m. She apparently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to hit a guardrail, go air born, and flip several times.

Hundreds joined her family at calling hours on Thursday night, including members of the law enforcement community. Troopers from all across the country are in town for the services.

Those we spoke with say her death brings home the reality of the danger they face every day.

“The hazards are there daily, and that doesn’t just go for us, it goes for all law enforcement, and that’s just driving. We drive upwards of 30, 40, 50,000 miles a year and that’s just on patrol, let alone what we do normally in our own vehicles, so the hazards are there," said Major Rodney Campbell, Troop D Commander.

State Police have issued a traffic advisory for the area of North Syracuse. They ask people who use Brewerton Road between Taft and Bear roads to take an alternate route if possible. They expect heavy traffic leading up to funeral services at 10 a.m.
