BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. -- Rainy weather didn't discourage runners from helping a local organization celebrate a milestone.

The 20th annual AIDS Walk and Run was held at Beaver Lake in Baldwinsville Sunday morning. It's the longest-running fundraiser for AIDS Community Resources, which serves nine counties across Central New York, the Mohawk Valley and the North Country.

Organizers said the event has seen a lot of change over the course of its existence.

Michael Crinnin, AIDS Community Resources Executive Director said, “One of the biggest changes, of course, is more and more people who are living with AIDS, people who are HIV infected, now participate. In the early days, 20 years ago, it was first and foremost a memorial walk for the people who have died."

Over the past 20 years, the run and walk has raised a total of more than $2 million for AIDS Community Resources.
