MATTYDALE, N.Y. -- Fire caused heavy damage to a home in Mattydale.

Crews were called to the home on Boulevard Street a little before two Friday afternoon. Officials say no one was home at the time and firefighters were able to get the flames under control in about 20 minutes. They say the fire caused significant damage to the rear of the home, along with smoke and water damage throughout.

Investigators are now looking into what caused the fire.

The Red Cross is helping the family of four who lived in the home.
