UNITED STATES -- The FBI released its crime stats for 2011 Monday. Nationwide, numbers show a decrease in crime in all major areas, but locally, the numbers stayed relatively steady.

Nationally, all crime except for burglary decreased, including a four percent decrease in violent crimes.

In Syracuse, there were actually more violent crimes then last year, but only by 11 incidents. Burglary actually decreased by 22 percent. There were also 11 murders, four fewer compared to 2010.
