ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The attorney for a Syracuse lawyer accused of bribing a witness was in court Tuesday morning. Ezequiel Neuman, 51, was allegedly caught on tape offering a witness $50,000 not to testify against his client in a coming trial.
Police executed a search warrant at Neuman's law office last week, and seized client files as well as his calendar.
Tuesday, Neuman's lawyer requested those documents, or at least copies of them back. The request was granted. As for the case itself, the defense attorney says they plan to fight the charges.
"There's definitely another side to this story. We're not going to tell it in installments. So we're going to wait and see what transpires here," said defense attorney Ed Menkin.
The case Neuman is accused in involved a homicide. His client, Emilier Carrasquillo-Fuentes, is accused of killing one man and seriously wounding a second in a shooting on south Geddes Street in 2010.
