SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- One of the largest investment and insurance companies in the world is taking this week to give back. AXA Group hosted an ice cream social and concert Tuesday at the AXA Towers in downtown Syracuse. The musical act was none other than Carla Davis, a finalist on the show "The Voice."
As part of Corporate Responsibility Week, AXA has also asked all employees to keep track of all the steps they take. The goal is to collectively walk a distance of 40,000 kilometers, the distance it would take to walk around the world.
"For every kilometer that the employees walk, collectively, AXA will donate one euro for every kilometer walked to a local volunteer project to be determined," said Joseph DiMora, Exec. VP for AXA Advisors.
AXA also handed out six scholarships to local students from across the region. Each one was worth $2,000.
