A bicyclist is in the hospital after being hit by a car in Endicott. The accident took place near the intersection of North Street and Oak Avenue shortly before 7:30 a.m.

The biker was taken to Wilson Hospital, but their name, age and condition have not been released. Witnesses say it was a young person who darted into traffic.

"We were in the warehouse and a young kid on his bicycle on North Street heading west cut in front of a Jeep Liberty, silver Jeep Liberty, and the women hit him, I mean he just cut out in front her, nothing she could do about it," said Sean King, who witnessed the accident.

The road will be shut down for the next several hours.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Endicott Police Department at (607) 785-3341.
