CLINTON COUNTY, N.Y. -- One man is dead after a car-motorcycle crash in Clinton County. State Police say it happened around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday on State Route 9 in the Town of Chazy.

They say Carol Guindon, 61, of Quebec was trying to do a U-turn, but didn't notice a motorcycle several yards away. The motorcycle, driven by James Wilson, 26, hit Guindon's vehicle, causing Wilson to be thrown from the bike. Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Guindon was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Nancy Bourdeau, 45, a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Vermont, where she is in critical condition. Two other passengers in the car were not hurt.
