UTICA, N.Y. - James Southerland was one of the reasons the Syracuse men's basketball team had so much depth last season, and he's working to make himself even more valuable for his senior year.
Southerland, one of six SU players playing in the King of Kings summer league in Utica, played in all of the Orange's 37 games last season, averaging 16 minutes, 6.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and nearly a block and a steal. He says he's been working on getting stronger and improving his dribbling skills during the offseason.
