SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Crews worked to put out a fire at a home on Palmer Avenue in Syracuse. Officials say the fire started around 1:20 p.m. Thursday.

It was initially reported that one person was unaccounted for when the fire started, but a search found everyone got out of the building safely.

Officials say the fire appears to have started on the porch before spreading up the front of the building and into the attic.

Authorities say with the high heat conditions outside and inside the building, the fire was able to move quickly throughout the house.

"Once it penetrates either walls, ceilings or the siding in this case, it can run unchecked until we get lines inside and open it up and get water on the hidden fire. But overall, our crews worked real hard and it's under control and only a couple minor injuries," Deputy Fire Chief Bill Mitson said.

Two firefighters received minor injuries in the fire and were transported from the scene as a precaution.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
