OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- Seniors in Oswego County have a new choice for affordable housing.
Local and state officials were in Central Square Thursday to cut the ribbon on Waterworks Landing. The complex features 32 units and it's designed for residents 55 and older who earn less than 60 percent of the median income for the area.
Developers say it fulfills an important need in the village.
"When we looked at the market and looked at where there was a need in this area, there just isn't this type of facility for seniors where they can see their friends, get their mail and not go outside and have the community space," said Susan Kimmel, Two Plus Four Construction President.
Though all the units are full at the moment, applications are still being accepted for the waiting list.
