ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Six people were arrested during a protest at Hancock Airfield in Syracuse.
This is the third time members of the Upstate Coalition to Ground the Drones and Stop the Wars group has been arrested for protesting at the same location.
A group of 15 people brought signs, banners, pictures of victims and crime scene tape to the protest. Police say those who refused to leave airfield property were arrested.
The Upstate Coalition says they're working to call attention to war crimes by the U.S. and Syracuse military airbases. They say innocent Afghan people are being killed in drone strikes by the U.S. military.
"It's against the law to do what we're doing. And it's our responsibility to say move this beyond the Ivory Tower to real life land. Children, moms, grandpas, wedding parties, people who are attending funerals of people who've been killed are themselves killed," protester Rae Kramer said.
All six protesters who were arrested are charged with trespassing.
