SANDY CREEK, N.Y. -- The final day of the Oswego County Fair took place on Wednesday.
Hundreds of residents headed to the fairgrounds for a day of food, rides, exhibits and competitions, including one of the day's most popular events, the pie eating contest.
And as always, children and teens from throughout the county were given the opportunity to show their livestock in competition. Many of the competitors have been involved with 4H activities since they were young children and have trained for years before showing their animals.
"It sounds like it would be easy, but it's actually a lot harder. It's taken me so long to master the skills and I still don't have it mastered, so it takes so long to figure everything out," said Alinda Dygert, who showed cows at the fair this year.
The fairgrounds will be open until midnight, with a fireworks show scheduled to start at dusk.
