CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. – It’s another hot summer day, and another county fair got underway in Upstate New York. The Cayuga County Fair was open for business Friday afternoon at the Cayuga County Speedway in Weedsport.

Fairgoers this year can expect all the usual favorite rides and attractions, along with a parade this year that the kids can walk in with their animals.

As for the extreme heat, organizers aren't worried.

"We just have to watch out for the animals. We do have in the sheep barn, we do have the big fans coming in to make sure that that stays nice and cool, make sure that everyone stays hydrated and plenty of water on the grounds,” said Brandi Feocco, Cayuga County Fair President.

Admission and parking are free. The fair runs noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and noon until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
