MADISON COUNTY, N.Y. -- A woman was arrested in Madison County while allegedly on bath salts. Sheriff's Deputies encountered a hostile woman in the Town of DeRuyter while following up on an earlier incident.

When they arrived at the home on Dugway Road at about 4 a.m. Thursday, deputies found Nicole Campbell, 34, partially clothed and screaming obscenities. Campbell threatened them with a golf club.

Deputies took her into the home, and there was a young girl inside. They say Campbell grabbed a knife from the floor and threw it in the direction of the deputies and the child. A struggle ensued, but deputies were able to take her into custody without anyone getting injured.

Campbell is being treated at Saint Joseph's Hospital. Charges are pending.
