UTICA, N.Y. -- This year's Boilermaker 15K is in the books and it proved to be a blowout. Tilahun Regassa finished in only 43:01, which is 15 seconds away from the course record. The Ethiopian took home $6,000 for his efforts. The top female finisher was also from Ethiopia. Mamitu Daska finished with a time of 49:26.

The winners led a crowd of 14,000 participants across the finish line. It was the most runners ever allowed in the 15K, and signups went faster than ever, selling out in only 65 days.

Another 20,000 to 30,000 people line the course to cheer the runners on. The huge crowds were able to enjoy a picture perfect day which all wraps up with the post-race party at F X Matt Brewery.
