SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Lawyers for the two men accusing Bernie Fine of sexual abuse are firing back at a recent report looking into Syracuse University's handling of the allegations back in 2005.

The report, which was put together by a special committee, found several faults with the manner in which the investigation was carried out, but no attempt to cover anything up.

Responding in a nine page release Monday, Gloria Allred, the attorney for Bobby Davis and Michael Lang, questions vague language used in the report. She also questions the interests of many of the parties involved, including the University's legal counsel: Bond, Shoeneck and King, which worked with human resources to investigate Davis’ allegations back in 2005.

Allred claims there was an "inherent conflict of interest since the law firm had represented SU in legal matters for decades.”

In a concluding statement, Allred writes, "After careful review of this 2012 ‘investigation’ it is clear to us that the Special Committee report is a complete whitewash, is self serving, suffers from a lack of transparency and raises more questions than it answers."

Davis and Lang's defamation lawsuit against the university and basketball coach Jim Boeheim was thrown out in State Supreme Court back in May. They have since filed an appeal.
